Made from Lydia’s ancient sand pear tree. Sand pears are named for the sandy appearance of the skin. The flesh is firm and crisp and they are usually canned as pear halves. It took some work to develop a process to turn sand pears into a smooth and delightful jam, although the texture of the sand pears is still detectable. Like all Single Tree jams, all of the fruit comes from one tree and the jam is made in small batches. The ingredients are sand pears, sugar, and lemon juice. Plus, each batch of sand pear jam is made using a fresh cinnamon stick which prompted our oldest son to comment, “This is freaking delicious.” Each jar contains 8 FL OZ of deliciousness.
Try sand pear jam on bagels, English muffins, and toast. It goes great on peanut butter sandwiches. And, for a real treat, try using it as a topping on vanilla ice cream.

This jam is so delicious! You’ll never find anything better in the stores. I wasn’t sure what pear jam would taste like, but I was happily surprised. There is a hint of cinnamon in it that makes it so unique and delicious!

I don’t like pears but I love this jam! Everything from the texture to the taste. It’s perfect for the change in seasons right now. Spread a little on some toast or even just dip some crackers in it and you’ll soon find yourself enjoying your new favorite jam.

This pear jam is so deliciously different! I was once told by a fellow customer in line at IKEA that Americans don’t use pear as a flavoring very often. I have found that to be true, which makes me appreciate this jam even more! It was a huge hit on my last charcuterie spread!
