Made from Marianne’s Kieffer pear tree. Kieffer pears are a close relative to sand pears and the flavor is nearly identical. The flesh is firm and crisp and they are usually canned as pear halves. They are so much like sand pears that I was able to use the exact same recipe. Like all Single Tree jams, all of the fruit comes from one tree and the jam is made in small batches of 5-6 half-pint jars per batch. The ingredients are Kieffer pears, sugar, and lemon juice, and infused with cinnamon. Each jar contains 8 FL OZ of deliciousness.
Try Kieffer pear jam on bagels, English muffins, and toast. It goes great on peanut butter sandwiches. And, for a real treat, try using it as a topping on vanilla ice cream.
